A video of a Ukrainian soldier fighting in the frontline reuniting with his daughter for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb.24 has gone viral on social media.

The touching video shows the father, Ruslan Pustovoit, who was away from home to fight the invaders, warmly hugging Nastia.

The clip was shared by Anton Gerashchenko, Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Twitter.

Gerashchenko wrote, “Nastia and her dad, Ruslan Pustovoit, finally meet again.

They said goodbye to each other on 24th February. Nastia waited and hoped, and her dream came true!”

It must be noted that videos of soldiers reuniting with their families after returning from war are always special.

Mariana Betsa, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, said, “Truly heartbreaking. Let all children reunite with their parents who are defending Ukraine #StopRussia #StandWithUkraine…”

Social media users reacted to the emotional video and called upon countries of the world to push forward the deal to stop the war.

A Twitter user with the name ‘Hart4Equality’ said, “Praise the Lord for this beautiful reconciliation. This precious baby girl doesn’t deserve to live in fear or be separated from her Daddy. Please in the name of Jesus #StopRussia #StopPutin Do everything to protect innocent Ukrainians.”

Bruce McLaren said, “Such an inspirational photo, a message to the world, an appreciation for life and thankfulness... for the moment... this is ‘you’ and your ‘daughter’ fighting for your country and loved ones…”

Many netizens were speechless and could only react with some crying emojis.

The UNHCR, the UN's refugee agency, found that those who have fled abroad to escape the Russian war in Ukraine were constantly worried about their future and don't feel they can make long-term plans.

Russia invaded neighbouring Ukraine on February 24, triggering the biggest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.

UNHCR's latest figures from July 6 show that 5,650,000 individual refugees from Ukraine have been recorded across Europe.
