Rains of different intensity and hail fell on separate areas across the UAE on Tuesday as a result of the country being affected by an air depression coming from northern India and southern Pakistan towards the Sultanate of Oman.

The depression was accompanied by different formations of rainy clouds over Oman, which stretched over the UAE, especially on the northern and eastern areas, through to the south-easterly areas, possibly accompanied by light to moderate rains at times up to Thursday.

Moderate rainfall began to fall on Khatm Al Shiklah of Al Ain at 3pm, while moderate to heavy rains fell on Malaqet and heavy rains with hail fell on Khatm Al Shiklah, Masaken, Al Hili, Al Foah and other areas.

The lowest temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 00:45am UAE local time.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to exercise caution during heavy rains and strong winds over some eastern areas, which may cause solid objects to fly and horizontal visibility to become lower.

It also called on them to stay away from flooded areas.

Wednesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy in general with a chance of rain in some eastern, northern and southern areas and a drop in temperatures in some areas in the east, the NCM said.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow, turning to strong and sand-stirring at 15 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, it added, noting that the sea will have light to moderate waves in the in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

The NCM pointed out that Thursday’s weather would be partly cloudy to cloudy in general with a chance of rain in some coastal and inland areas and a further drop in temperature.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow, turning to strong and sand-stirring sometimes, it added, noting that the sea will have moderate waves but will become rough sometimes in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy in general with a chance of rain on some eastern and southern areas, it said.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow, turning to strong sometimes at 15 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, it added, noting that the sea will have light waves in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
