The UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) issued fresh guidelines for Eid Al Adha.

The NCEMA, during the media briefing on the latest development on COVID-19 and monkeypox, said, “Today we announce the controls and requirements for the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayer in the mosques and chapels of the state, and the preventive measures taken.

The experts advice, “In order to enjoy comfort, tranquility and joy with family members, especially the elderly, we recommend conducting a PCR laboratory test no later than 72 hours before Eid to ensure the health and safety of everyone.”

The Health Ministry said that the local authorities should adopt any additional precautionary measures as they deem appropriate. We would also like to point out the necessity of implementing the green traffic system in the Al Hosn App before leaving the country, according to the protocol adopted during travel.

The following are the Eid measures:

Emphasis on the commitment to wear a mask all the time and follow physical distance between the worshipers of at least 1 metre.

Mandatory use of personal or single-use rugs.

The entry and exit are supervised by the police, and volunteers to prevent crowding and organize prayer.

The doors of mosques will open for the Eid prayer after the Fajr prayer on the day of Eid.

Activating the external sound system to broadcast the takbeers half an hour before the prayer.

The outer courtyards of the mosques will be prepared to ensure the implementation of protocols, with the possibility of using parks and public parking adjacent to mosques.

Gatherings and handshakes before and after prayer in all its forms are prohibited and greeting from a distance are allowed.

We recommend limiting the celebration and peace with members of the same family and relatives.

Wear a face mask and adhere to physical distancing when visiting family, especially when sitting with the elderly.

We recommend conducting a laboratory test before Eid, with no more than 2 to 3 days to ensure the health and safety of all.

We recommend using electronic alternatives to distribute Eidiya.

The authorities said, “We recommend that you review health centers directly in the event of symptoms of influenza, and in the event of infection, we emphasize the application of home quarantine.”

Guidelines for slaughtering sacrificial animals:

Exchanging and distributing the sacrificial animals' meat, gifts and food between neighbours are allowed with the obligation to put them in clean bags or cans and sterilize them before distributing it.

It is forbidden to deal with itinerant workers for the purpose of slaughtering a sacrifice, and it will be considered violation for everyone who deals with them.

We advise paying the price of sacrifice through official charities in the country for slaughtering and distribution.

Concerned local authorities should evaluate slaughterhouse procedures and markets to ensure no crowding and smooth delivery of service.
