The stations of the National Seismic Network of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) recorded an earthquake of magnitude 2.4 on the Richter scale in Al Bataeh area in Sharjah at 15:27 on Saturday UAE local time with no effects.
In the meantime, the NCM said that scattered areas in the city of Al Ain witnessed rainfall of varying intensity, as light rain began at 5:00 pm on Al Ain International Airport and Salamat, and light to medium rain on Al Maqam, Al Amara and separate areas in Al Ain.
The lowest temperature in the country was recorded on Saturday morning in Barakah, Al Dhafra region, which reached 22.3°C at 06:00 am, while the highest temperature touched 49.8°C in Suwaihan area at 2:15 pm and UAE University in Al Ain at 3:30 pm UAE local time, the NCM added.
It also expected that the weather on Sunday would be hot in general and dusty at times.
Some clouds will appear over southeastern areas, may be convective by afternoon, with an increase in temperature.
Humid by night and Monday morning with a probability of mist formation over some coastal areas, especially westward. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing and suspended dust especially eastward may reduce the horizontal visibility, with a speed of 15 - 25 reaching 40 km/hr.
The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
On Monday, the weather is expected to be hot during daytime and fair in general and some clouds appear eastward by afternoon.
Humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal areas. Light to moderate southeasterly, becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime, with a speed of 10 - 25 reaching 35 km/hr.
The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
The NCM also expected that the weather on Tuesday may remain hot during daytime and fair in general and some clouds will appear eastward by afternoon.
Light to moderate southeasterly, becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime. With a speed of 10 - 20 reaching 35 km/hr.
The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
