VIDEO: Abu Dhabi Police share videos of motorists littering roads, issue Dhs1,000 fine

Abu Dhabi Police shared videos of reckless and immoral behaviours of motorists while driving in the roads of the emirate.

The videos show some motorists littering the roads.

The police highlighted a video where a motorist can be seen throwing a can of beverage on the road and speeding away.

The Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Department of Monitoring and Control Center, and with the "You Comment" initiative, broadcast these videos.

The Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate called on motorists to abide by traffic rules and warn passengers with them not to throw any waste and to participate in promoting positive behaviours by preserving the environment and the general appearance of cities.

The police explained that this behavior may cause environmental pollution and urged the need to cooperate with the competent authorities in concern for health, safety and the environment.

Residents must throw the waste in designated places.

The police stated that the Traffic Law clarified in Article No. (71) that "throwing waste from vehicles on the road while driving" will attract a fine of Dhs1,000, and 6 black points on registered licenses of the for violating drivers.
