His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received Hulusi Akar, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Turkey in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The Turkish Minister of Defence conveyed to Sheikh Mohamed the greetings of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Turkish Republic, and his wishes for continued health and happiness, and for the UAE further progress and prosperity.

The two sides discussed the prospects of further advancing their friendship relations and various aspects of cooperation between the two nations.

Mohamed Bin Zayed conveyed his best greetings to President Erdogan, wishing the people of Turkey progress and prosperity.

The Minister of Defence offered his condolences and sympathy to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed on the death of Sheikh Khalifa.

He also congratulated Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed on the occasion of assuming the presidency of the United Arab Emirates, expressing his wishes for success during the next stage in leading the UAE towards further development and prosperity.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and the Turkish Minister discussed bilateral ties and various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Turkey.

Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi attended the meeting in Abu Dhabi.
