An African woman attempted to leave the country with a passport belonging to another. The passport officer at Dubai Airport discovered her attempt and informed the competent authorities accordingly.

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred the defendant to the misdemeanor court, which sentenced her to three months in jail to be followed by deportation. The case dated back to last March when the passport officer discovered that the photo in the passport was different from the woman who was using the passport to leave the country with.

The officer stated in the public prosecution’s investigations that the photo of the passport’s owner did not match the woman’s photo, adding that after it was checked, the passport was found to be valid and that the photo was apparently changed and consequently he told the police accordingly. On interrogation, the passenger admitted that the passport belonged to another woman and that she tried to use it to leave the country with.
