The Umm Al Quwain’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested an Asian gang that specialised in stealing car exhausts (environmental filters) from some vehicles in the emirate.

According to Colonel Saeed Obaid Bin Arran, CID Director, several reports were received that some car exhausts had been stolen and a search and investigation  team was formed in co-operation with the Criminal Investigation Branch at the Al Salama Comprehensive Police Station.

The team managed within 24 hours to identify and arrest the perpetrators, who were found to be Asians. On interrogation, the perpetrators confessed to the charges levelled against them.

Bin Arran called on the public to co-operate with the police by reporting such crimes in order to confront these gangs that threaten the security of the society.
