Afghan authorities said that four bombs tore through minibuses and a mosque in Afghanistan's northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul on Wednesday, killing at least 11 people.

The police said that the bombs hidden inside three minibuses from public view in different districts of the city.

The Balkh provincial police spokesman Asif Waziri told reporters that 15 other people were wounded.

The Kabul Police said that a bomb exploded inside a mosque late on Wednesday, killing at least two people and wounding 10 others.

Investigating officers said that the bomb was placed inside a fan in the mosque.

So far no group has claimed the four bomb attacks.

It is noteworthy that the number of attacks have dropped across the country since the Taliban seized power last year in August, but several cities were rocked by bombings during the month of Ramadan.

Dozens of civilians were killed in Ramadan in the primarily sectarian attacks — some claimed by the hardline extremist, Daesh group.
