VIDEO: Saudi Police arrest drivers for modifying 2 vehicles, performing stunts

The Saudi General Directorate of Traffic, through its Twitter account announced the seizure of two drivers in Makkah.

They appeared in a video clip of two violating vehicles performing stunts in the streets.

The authorities said that by making amendments in the two cars, the motorists have put the safety of road users in at risk.  The two people were referred to the Traffic Authority to apply the penalties prescribed by law.

The Saudi authorities said that they would not spare any efforts to arrest and punish whoever disturbs the equilibrium in the society.

Last month, a video clip of a Saudi youth driving recklessly on an empty football field has drawn ire of netizens.

In the video youth can be seen drifting his car in the middle of the field and hitting a container that was placed in the middle of the stadium in Jizan region, causing it to fall to the ground.

After the video went viral the Saudi Public Security Directorate followed up the incident. Later in a statement it confirmed that the security patrols in the Jizan region were able to identify and arrest the driver of the vehicle who appeared in the video clip.

According to the authorities’ statement the driver was a Saudi citizen and the legal procedures against are completed.
