The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Security Ports (ICA) announced the suspension of the separate Emirates ID issuance/renewal services for all categories of residents except Dubai, effective from Monday, May 16, 2022.

It noted that the unified form services will be used in requests for issuance or renewal of residency and ID.

The ICA clarified that separate residency services (issue/renewal) will be available only to those who currently have a separate ID request in process, noting that the services will remain in the account for a limited period.

"Stopping the issuance of the residency sticker for UAE residents came into force as of April 11 and a new unified form was created for the issuance and renewal of residency and ID card, replacing the previous individual requests," the ICA added.

The UAEICP smart app enables a soft copy of the ID card to be obtained for flexible use upon request, the ICA said, stressing that the new generation of the Emirates ID card issued to UAE residents includes all the details previously mentioned in the residency sticker.

This enhances the ID card’s value added for proving the personal identity of individuals, considering that the personal and professional data, the issuing entity and other data are available on the back of the ID card.

The ICA has given five steps for customers to print their residency details electronically through the personal or business account via the ICA’s website www.icp.gov.ae or the UAEICP smart app.

"Thus, in order to print their residency details, customers are required to login to the website, choose smart channels, log into the system using the personal or business account and choose the service through the control panel," the ICA added.

The map of services includes the department (emirate), main services (other requests), sub-services (residency details), type of procedure (printing), filling in and reviewing application data and payment of fees.
