A team of detectives was formed to conduct investigations and gather the necessary inferences, he added, noting that the perpetrator was identified and later arrested. On interrogation, the perpetrator confessed to the charges levelled against him, he said.

Abu Al Zoud called on the public not to obey the orders of any person until they presented their police ID cards, noting that the police do not ask people to check their personal wallets and take any money from the public.

He emphasised the keenness of the Sharjah Police on protecting all their citizens and residents and maintaining their safety, calling on them to co-operate with the security authorities by reporting any suspicious behaviour, threats, thefts or other negative phenomena.
