60,000 people visited Jebel Jais on the first two days of Eid

The Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department announced that as many as 17,000 cars used the Jebel Jais mountain road, which leads to the highest mountain peak in the UAE (1,934 meters above sea level), over the first and second days of the current Eid Al Fitr holiday.
Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the RAK Public Services Department, said the number of visitors, hikers and tourists, who visited Jebel Jais and celebrated Eid Al Fitr on the first two days of the holiday, were estimated at around 60,000.
These included citizens, residents and tourists coming from several countries and belonging to different nationalities and age groups.
Al Hammadi pointed out that Saqr Public Park, the largest public park in the emirate, received more than 1,000 cars and 3,000 visitors, over the first and second days of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The emirate’s famous natural landmarks, parks, beaches and public recreational and tourism facilities saw a large turnout over the current Eid holiday, most notably the Al Qawasim Corniche in downtown Ras Al Khaimah, he said.
