A famous Keralite biker and a former attestation services officer at the Indian Consulate in Dubai died in a motorbike accident in Sharjah’s Kalba area on Saturday.

The Malayalee bike racer has been identified as Japin Jayaprakash, a resident of Kozhikode Balussery Estate, Kerala.

He was 37-year-old. Japin was on his morning bike ride session when the accident took place.

Sharjah Police revealed that the 37-year-old Indian man died at the site of the crash after his bike hit a concrete barrier on the road.

According to the police, the operations room received a call at 7.50am on Saturday, reporting the accident on Sharjah-Kalba Road.

He was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved. He is survived by his wife Dr Anju Japin and two children.

Japin was a sportsman and he participated in many international bike rides. As soon as the news came to limelight, rich tributes started coming in for the ill-fated biker.

A source close to the family said that Japin was preparing to start his advertising company on Monday.

A close friend of Japin who also went to school with him said he couldn’t get over with the news. “We were family. We were supposed to start business together,” he said.

On his Facebook page, friends and relatives shared emotional tributes.

Sunil S. Puram wrote, “Japin... It is very sad that your journey was put to a full stop... Can’t believe it... At Dubai Indian Consulate, you were always there to help when needed… Wishing you eternal peace... ”

Thanzeer Nas said in a warm message, “I can’t believe that you are no more in this world... I’ve never met a better colleague as much as you in our 10 years friendship... You were like a brother to me... The first days I came to Dubai, I spent most of the evening with you... You taught me so many work related things... Whatever I am today, you played a huge role in it... I like to believe that you are with us... With a heartbreaking pain...”

A fellow rider Francis Tharakan said in a statement, “Rest in peace dear Japin Jayaprakash my fellow riding friend and brother... Your loss is heavily felt in our biking community.” He added, “God bless your soul and may He give your family and friends you’ve left behind the strength and courage to bear the loss of you.”

Japin’s body was flown to India on Sunday.
