The Dubai Police have arrested a beggar who used to offer people a weighing machine to weigh themselves for Dh1.

Colonel Ahmed Al Adidi, acting director of Anti-infiltrators at the General Department of Criminal Investigation said that the department arrested the suspect, in cooperation with the Al Muraqqabat Police Station, where he was seen putting a weighing scale and asking passersby to weigh themselves for only one dirham.

Warning against begging

Al Adidi explained that this is a new form of begging which beggars follow.

He called on the public not to respond to beggars, not to be deceived by their fraudulent methods, and to report immediately if any of them are seen, through the call centre (901), the Police Eye Service, through the Dubai Police smart app on mobile phones, or through the (E-Crime) platform.
