UAE sees 229 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced 229 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 895,892.

The Ministry stressed in a statement on Tuesday that its aim to continue expanding the nationwide testing scope to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced that it conducted 272,856 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

The infected individuals are from various nationalities, stable, and receive the necessary care, according to the ministry.

The Ministry added that no COVID-19-related deaths had been recorded in the past 24 hours, leaving the death toll unchanged at 2,302.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 408 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 878,056.

MoHAP has announced that 5,844 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered during the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Tuesday stands at 24,658,623 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 249.32 doses per 100 people.
