Hotel cleaner steals Dubai tourist’s headset, tracking device makes him face the music

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian cleaner three months in prison to be followed by deportation for stealing a telephone headset from a European tourist’s hotel room.

The incident dates back to last January, when a European reported that his father’s headset had been stolen during a tourist trip he took in Dubai.

He stated that his father had told him that his headset had been lost while he was in Dubai, so he immediately activated a tracking application for finding the lost device, which was detected in the hotel where his father stayed.

He came to the country and headed to the police, where he reported the incident.

On checking the tracking the application, the headset was detected in the hotel and seized in possession of a cleaner working for the hotel.

In interrogation, the cleaner confessed to the crime and other thefts that had committed in the hotel.

Upon, searching his room, a number of other belongings had been found as well.
