Dr Moopen’s donation, equivalent to one million meals, is in line with Aster DM Healthcare’s humanitarian efforts to help those in need and supports the UAE’s vision and its grand initiatives to help the underprivileged and undernourished in poor communities. It is one of several UAE companies that are making a significant financial contribution to 1 Billion Meals initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to alleviate hunger worldwide and ensure food security.

One of the greatest gifts we can give is to feed a hungry human being feeding the needy in 50 countries is a mammoth task but Dubai makes the impossible possible. It is our privilege to contribute to the One Billion Meals initiative by His Highness and it is in alignment with our Aster Volunteers programme and other initiatives to help the poor and needy."
Donors can contribute to the 1 Billion Meals initiative through the following donation channels - the campaign’s official website: www.1billionmeals.ae; bank transfer to the campaign’s account at Emirates NBD, number: AE300260001015333439802. Donors can also opt to donate AED1 a day through a monthly subscription by sending "Meal" or "وجبة" via SMS to 1020 on the du network or 1110 on the Etisalat network. Donations can also be made through campaign’s call center via a toll-free number 8009999.
The 13 countries where distribution has begun are Nigeria, India, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Tajikistan, Uganda, UAE, Kosovo, USA, and Albania utilising the existing field and logistical networks of the initiative’s operational partners.
Mubadala’s donation, which is equivalent to five million meals, will accelerate the initiative’s target achievement with preliminary distribution across Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, India, and Sudan, among other countries.
“Sheikha Hind is a role model. Hind is good and generous. Hind is a companion and friend in the course of goodness,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on his Twitter account.
"Dewa is honoured to be a major supporter of the initiative, which was launched in conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadan, and is the biggest humanitarian initiative of its kind in the region and globally," said Saeed Al Tayer.
The leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various fields to serve development in the two friendly countries and expand the base of their common interests.
The case dated back to last July when an Asian girl filed a complaint in which she stated that her friend living with her in the same apartment attempted to kill herself.
Sheikh Sultan published photos of his meeting with the administrative body of Khorfakkan University, and he also met with a delegation from the University of Exeter.
