WGS: Government and leaders must work together to enhance regional cooperation, says Sultan of Brunei

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the World Government Summit 2022 on its first day, which is being held at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Prior to the summit, Sheikh Mohammed said that the World Government Summit (WGS) provides a platform to discuss new ideas and insights that can shape a better future for humankind and raise the readiness of governments to navigate current and future changes.

Beginning the Summit, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei took to the World Government Summit platform to discuss global challenges and risks to human security and inequality

Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah recalls late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, saying, "History is a continuous chain of events. The present is only an extension of the past."

"In this era of globalisation, it is important for governments and leaders to work together through regional cooperation," said Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah said.

The World Government Summit 2022 hosts on its first day the Agile Nations Forum, which probes the abilities of agile governments to achieve stability.

It also took note of Cyber Security. The Forum featured government officials and global decision-makers.

Held under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments,’ the World Government Summit 2022 brings thought leaders, global experts and decision makers from around the globe to share and contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models that are essential in shaping future governments.

Around 4,000 top government officials, directors and leaders from 190 countries are attending the mega event in Dubai.
