Rescue officials gather around the well in Al Ain.

A 3-year-old boy died after falling into a 72-meter-deep well in Al Dhaher area in Al Ain on Friday evening.

The rescue teams of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) were immediately dispatched to the spot of the incident as soon as a report was received by the operations room.

The teams instantly proceeded the rescue operations and dealt with the incident.

ADCDA called on the public to ensure that any wells or holes near homes or neighborhoods are refilled, in order to protect children and to preserve their safety.

It also offered condolences to family of the deceased in a statement, warning members of the community not to circulate any incorrect information or publish photos and information that affect the privacy of the deceased’s family.
