“I love playing the drums because it allows me to express my energy and ideas,” says Maitha Al Mansoori.

Emirati electronic drummer Maitha Al Mansoori is touching people’s hearts at the Dubai Metro Music Festival with her delightful musical performance on the electronic drums.

Al Mansoori is standing out for her ability to add oriental melodies to Western songs while playing the electronic drums, a modern instrument that first originated in the West.

“I love playing the drums because it allows me to express my energy and ideas. The drum is a unique and distinctive instrument that adds a lot of excitement to various songs and melodies,” said Al Mansoori, who is also passionate about playing several other musical instruments such as oxylivon, piano and flute.

“Events like the Dubai Metro Music Festival provide artists an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity and also enhance their skillsets. The Festival is such a wonderful platform for all artists to play their music in front of huge crowds of people coming from different cultural backgrounds,” she said.

Organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the second edition of the Dubai Metro Music Festival is taking place from 16th-22nd March.

During the week-long celebration of global music, Dubai Metro stations serve as stages for live musical performances by local, regional and international musicians representing a range of musical genres. Through its various initiatives, Brand Dubai is always keen to create a platform for Emirati creatives from various fields to showcase their talent.

The week-long celebration of global music  brings together some of the most innovative musicians in the region and from across the world representing a range of musical genres.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, City Branding Manager, Brand Dubai, welcomed the participating artists to the Festival, which is one of the key highlights of the ongoing #DubaiDestinations campaign focused on showcasing the exceptional experiences, events and activities of #DubaiArtSeason. One of a series of cultural events being held in March, the Festival further raises Dubai’s profile as a dynamic hub for creative talent from around the world, she said.
