The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE), in cooperation with its strategic partners, organised a dialogue session on “Emirati Sanaa” programme on Sunday at the Fazaa Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The discussion focused on the Emirati way of life governing social ethics, culture, norms and customs.

Al Sanaa is part of the UAE educational curriculum.

The activities and panel discussion at Expo 2020 Dubai were graced by Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, CEO of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage centre (HHC); Dharar Belhoul Al Falasi, Member of the Federal National Council and Executive Director of Watani Al Emarat Foundation; Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, Vice President at The Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee, and Dr Hamad Al Yahyai, Assistant Undersecretary for the Curriculum Sector at the Ministry of Education.

The session was moderated by Dr Faisal Al Bakri, Head of the National Team for Education 2030.

The winner students with Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook and other at Expo Dubai 2020.

The dialogue session also reviewed the book Al Sanaa – available in both Arabic and English and authored by HHC CEO Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook. The book highlights Emirati customs, manners, social practices, traditions, and other rules governing daily interactions and behaviour.

It also promotes the intangible cultural heritage of the UAE.

Dalmook said: “The book provides important details of the traditional aspects of the UAE society, as well as its rich customs, traditions and noble values that embody the meanings of tolerance, respect and good morals passed on from generations from parents and grandparents.” For his part, Dirar Belhoul Al Falasi, Member of the Federal National Council and Executive Director of the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, noted “it is from the grace of God Almighty that He bestowed upon us a wise leadership that instills in us goodness and high morals.” Al Falasi also stressed the practical applications of the book, by instilling it in students, parents and society as a whole, to enhance tolerance and security in the land.

Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, Vice-Chairman of the Cultural and Heritage Programs and Festivals Management Committee, focused on the important role of education and teachers in imbibing good manners to the students.

Dr Hamad Al Yahyai, Assistant Undersecretary for the Curriculum Sector of the Ministry of Education, for his part reviewed the implementation of the Sanaa programme in schools across the UAE.

Dr Faisal Al Bakri, Head of the National Education 2030 Team, emphasised Al Sanaa must be adopted and preserved, which is being done by the Ministry of Education and its strategic partners.
