There are scenes of chaos all across Ukraine as Russia intensifies its assault and thousands are fleeing the country.

People crossing these checkpoints, manned by Ukrainian soldiers, have to show their papers to pass through them.

In between all the grim news coming in from Ukraine, a heartwarming video of a Ukrainian soldier proposing to his girlfriend at a checkpoint is melting hearts.

In the video, which has gone viral, Ukrainian soldiers are seen frisking some civilians at a military checkpoint after stopping their car.

All civilians are standing with their back towards the soldiers.

One of the soldiers, having a ring in his hand, can be seen going down on one knee.

He is also seen hiding flowers behind his back.

He nudges the woman from behind and as soon as she turns around, he proposes to her.

The visibly overwhelmed woman hugs the soldier while others record their video and cheer for them.
