Kuwait witnessed a horrific incident, after a body of a child was found inside a hospital mortuary.

According to local media, the hospital apologized to the father of a child a year after the death of his son, as soon as he was born.

The facts of the tragedy go back to the time when a complete lockdown was imposed in Kuwait due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, as this coincided with the admission of a woman to the hospital to give birth, but the child was stillborn.

According to the child’s father’s lawyer, the hospital administration asked his father to take care of the burial procedures, in light of the difficult situation the country was going through at the health level with the outbreak of the epidemic.

However, the surprise appeared about a year later, when hospital workers discovered that the child was still present in the mortuary, after receiving orders to clean the morgue compartment, only to be surprised by the presence of the child inside it.

The child's father's lawyer indicated that his client went to the hospital, who called him to apologise for the incident. He was also surprised that the hospital director was trying to give him a box of candy.

Social media user in Kuwait launched the hashtag "Child in the hospital refrigerator", especially after hospital officials' statements about the accident, saying: "Sorry, we forgot."
