A 36-year-old African stole money and the phones of 7 Asian girls after breaking into their house and beating them up.

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced him to one year in jail to be followed by deportation after serving the jail term.

Details date back to October 2021, when 7 Asian girls filed a report stating that they had been robbed and assaulted by an African.

According to the testimony of one of the girls, she was attacked by a person who broke into their flat where she lived with the other victims in Al Muteena area in Dubai.

A third victim reported that the African put his hand on her neck, dropped her on the bed and hit her with his hand on her mouth.

She added he took her phone and asked the victims to keep silent and to hand him the money they had. He then pulled the first victim’s hair and stole Dhs7,200 from them, some jewelry and all their phones.

Another victim said they managed to escape from the flat and headed to the building guard who closed the flat door so that the African could not escape, and informed the police, but the African fled.

According to the statement of a policeman, a team of investigations identified the suspect who was arrested and the victims recognised him.

On being questioned, he confessed to entering the girls’ flat through his window, but he denied stealing their money, phones or any other items.
