A 35-year-old woman, who was seven-month pregnant and her daughter, 10, died in a traffic accident in Sharjah on Tuesday.

Father and three sons received serious to moderate injuries and were taken to Qasimi and Al Kuwait hospitals respectively for treatment.

The Operations Room of the Sharjah Police General Command received a report at 11:00pm on Tuesday alerting that an Asian family’s car had a collision with another car, which resulted in deaths and injuries.

On receiving the report, traffic patrols and the National Ambulance rushed to the scene and found that the mother and her daughter died on the spot.

The father was transferred to Al Qassimi Hospital, and the sons to Al Kuwait Hospital.

Witnesses of the incident affirmed that the driver who caused the accident fled the scene without waiting for the police or completing legal procedures.

The incident file was transferred to the competent police to complete the investigations and find the fleeing vehicle driver.
