An Omani national, Soliman Bin Ibrahim Al Beloushi, died on Saturday of a serious injury he sustained after a bottle fell on his head and pierced his skull while he was having dinner with a friend in a restaurant in the JBR area in Dubai.

The Dubai Police announced the arrest of the suspect who threw the bottle from a high floor in a nearby building.

Al Beloushi, a resident of Jaalan Bani Buhassan, was instantly transferred to Park View Hospital in Dubai in critical condition after the brain was affected badly by the pieces of glass which caused him to lose consciousness.

His injury got worse and he died.

Brigadier Jamal Al Jalaf Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dubai Police explained that the details of the case date back to earlier when the Department of the Command and Control Centre in the General Department of Operations received a report stating that a GCC national was seriously injured in the head after an empty bottle fell on his head from a building in the JBR area in Dubai.

Al Jalaf added that the CID team identified the suspect and his place despite the lack of evidence or trace to guide to him. He was reportedly arrested and transferred to the competent authorities to take all legal measures against him.
