A passenger travelling by American Airlines stormed the cockpit and damaged some of the plane's controls while trying to jump out of the cabin window, but the pilots and crew members got hold of him, and he was eventually arrested.

The incident happened at an Honduras airport when the passengers were boarding for a flight to Miami.

American Airlines did not reveal the identity of the passenger or the reason for his behaviour, but indicated that the accident occurred on Flight 488, which was heading from San Pedro Sula to Miami.

She added that what the passenger did caused chaos and damage in the cockpit, which led to a delay in the departure of the flight, as well as the transfer of passengers to another plane.
