A court in New Cairo has rejected Egyptian businessman, Mohammed Al Amin's his lawyer’s request to release him.

Court extended detention of Al Amin, who is held on charges of trafficking and sexually assaulting girls, for 15 days.

The Public Prosecution previously had ordered a pre-trial detention of the suspect after being charged with trafficking of girls in an orphanage owned by him in Beni Suef Governorate in Egypt.

The prosecution indicated that the suspect took advantage of the victims’ weakness for sexual abuse, inciting them to commit offences and indecently assaulting them and endangering their life.

Public Prosecution in Cairo initiated the case after it received a report from the National Motherhood and Children's Council on December 2021 on news published in one of the social networking sites about the suspect’s indecent assault of girls in an orphanage he owned. 

The Prosecution summoned the victims who testified that the suspect used to indecently assault them and that he accompanied some of them to his villa in the North Coast for a week.
