Medical staff and members of the senior management along with a number of patients offer Friday prayers in the Abu Dhabi hospital.

Burjeel Medical City, in the Musaffah region of Abu Dhabi, organised the first Friday prayer at the workplace, in the presence of 70 employees, including doctors, nurses and members of the senior management, along with a number of patients to perform Friday prayers in the hospital, amid precautionary measures to preserve everyone's health.

Congregational prayers were held in the city with the support of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments by providing an imam for the Friday sermon.

Under special arrangements for patients in their rooms to perform their prayers, more than 20 patients undergoing treatment in the hospital joined the prayer.

Patients undergoing long-term care at Burjeel came to the prayer area in wheelchairs with the support of hospital staff, and the entire arrangement was made through maintaining social distancing and other safety protocols.

“Praying with our guests is also a new experience,” said Sader Al-Rawi, CEO of Burjeel Medical City.

“We plan to continue this special arrangement for Friday prayers at the hospital in the coming weeks as well, and eventually, it will turn into a permanent system for visitors, patients, passers-by and our staff and we thank the Endowments for its guidance and support it.
