Sharjah authorizes schools to switch to distance learning for two days starting Jan.3
The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has authorised administrations of private schools in the emirate the power to take the appropriate decision to switch to distance learning temporarily for 48 hours (two school days), as part of the procedures in force to deal with COVID-19 cases in school.
SPEA explained that distance learning is an option available to parents of students leaning in private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, until further notice.
Further, it called on administrations of private schools in the emirate to necessarily submit a report to the COVID-19 committee affiliating with SPEA, noting that control teams will follow up the commitment to the procedures in force in all private schools.
SPEA also stressed the need to fill out the annual report on the “Tamam” platform, starting from (Monday), affirming that 95 per cent of the cadres working in private schools have already received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) stressed that students of different stages must hand over a negative test of PCR, not exceeding 96 hours, when entering the educational establishment, and that the Green Pass System must be applied on parents through Al Hosn app, to be able to enter these establishments.
The ministry tasked school principals with communicating directly with parents and providing them with all updates on the school scheme and the health situation.
