The first day of the second semester for the academic year 2021-2022, in public and private schools, kicks off on Monday, where schools from 5 emirates – Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah – will apply the distance learning system for 2 weeks as of 3 January.

The Dept. of Education & Knowledge Abu Dhabi, “In line with the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee announcement, all schools in Abu Dhabi will adopt distance learning for the first 2 weeks of the upcoming school term, starting 3 January 2022.”

The Emergencies and Crisis Team in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain announced the implementation of the distance education system in all public and private schools during the first two weeks of the second semester, which begins on the third of January 2022, in coordination with the Executive Council and based on national instructions in the context of following up on developments in the situation to facilitate the safe return to schools.

The role of nurseries that will implement the attendance education system with the intensification of precautionary and preventive measures is excluded from the decision, and the competent teams will ensure that nurseries adhere to the required procedures and follow up the situation intensively and continuously.

Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah implemented similar initiatives.

For in-person learning, the Ministry of Education (MoE) stressed that students of different stages must hand over a negative test of PCR, not exceeding 96 hours, when entering the educational establishment, and that the Green Pass System must be applied on parents through Al Hosn app, to be able to enter these establishments.

The ministry tasked school principals with communicating directly with parents and providing them with all updates on the school scheme and the health situation.
