A shocking video is going viral on social media in which a bridegroom is being beaten at his own wedding in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to local media, the incident took place on Friday at a wedding hall in Ghaziabad, where the groom's family demanded millions of rupees in dowry before the marriage.The bridegroom was beaten.

According to media, just before the marriage ceremony, the groom's father allegedly demanded 1 million Indian rupees and threatened to take back the guests if the demand was not met.

According to reports, the bride's family had already given her Rs 300,000 in cash and a diamond ring worth Rs 100,000 but the groom's family was still not satisfied.

The bridegroom's family tried to persuade the bridegroom's family but they refused, which angered the bride's family and guests and they started beating the bridegroom.

The bride's family also claimed that the man had been married 2-3 times before.
