The UAE rose to first place globally on the Bloomberg index for the best countries in COVID Resilience, rising from second place in the last classification, and achieving 73.2 points on the general index.

The UAE is ahead of countries such as Finland, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

In its classification, Bloomberg relied on key measures and methodologies for countries, such as the capabilities of the local health care system, the impact of virus-related restrictions on the economy, the freedom of movement of people, as well as rates of increase in cases, and the ability to do the required tests and precautionary measures to deal with the COVID-19 virus.

The UAE was able to reach this advanced rank regionally and globally thanks to the decisive and rapid measures it has taken since the outbreak of the epidemic, as it dealt with the virus more effectively and with less disruption to business and society.

European countries fell in the rankings with the arrival of the Omicron mutant.

European nations accounted for eight of the biggest declines in November, led by Austria, which fell 31 places after becoming the first country on the continent to re-enter a national lockdown, and Ireland, the best performer in September and October, slipping three times to fourth.
