Sharjah offers 50% discount in traffic fines to mark UAE’s golden jubilee

As part of the celebrations of the 50th National Day of the UAE, the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) approved a 50% reduction in traffic fines, with the abolition of traffic points and the vehicles impounding, except for serious traffic violations, from November 21, 2021 to January 31, 2022.

This came during the weekly meeting of the SEC chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah executive Council on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed a number of important government topics aimed at developing all government works and services in all departments and bodies, in addition to reviewing the development projects that go in line with the comprehensive development in the Emirate of Sharjah in all sectors.


The Council further discussed a number of proposals submitted by the Roads and Transport Authority.

The SEC also approved a draft law on organizing the Sharjah Education Academy, which includes the legal provisions related to the objectives, competencies, administrative formation and financial regulation of the Academy, and referred it to the Sharjah Consultative Council.

It also reviewed a report on the indicators of private education in the Emirate of Sharjah during the Covid-19 pandemic. The report included the most prominent efforts made by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), in coordination with the competent authorities and schools, in assessing and studying the educational situation and quickly adapting to the health situation.

The SEC praised the role of the (SPEA) in dealing with the pandemic and the efforts it made to develop the educational system in all its categories, under the directives and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and ruler of Sharjah.

The Council further discussed a number of proposals submitted by the Roads and Transport Authority, regarding supporting the means of transport and developing its system through the best operating mechanisms for taxis in the emirate, and the provision of various types of taxis to all cities and regions.

It directed to strengthen the transport system in the emirate, provide distinguished services through the best companies operating in the sector, and provide an attractive and stimulating environment for them in coordination with the concerned authorities.
