A video clip from a surveillance camera installed in front of the hospital where the explosion occurred in Liverpool showed the moment the vehicle exploded and the suspect was killed.

The video showed the arrival of a taxi in front of the women's hospital gate, and when its driver was ready to stop, the explosion occurred, which caused a fire inside the vehicle.

The British police announced that the explosion was a terrorist incident, but its motives are not yet clear, pointing out that the explosion was caused by an explosive device carried by a passenger who was killed in the explosion, and the driver of the vehicle was injured and is still in hospital and his condition is stable.

Police confirmed that counter-terrorism detained 3 people, aged between 21 and 29, in the Kensington area, believed to be related to the suspect.

British counter-terrorism police said the "heroic" taxi driver reportedly foiled a plot to bomb a packed Remembrance Day service in Liverpool.

The passenger was killed but the driver escaped with light injuries, after city authorities and newspapers described how he had locked the man inside after growing suspicious about his intentions.

The passenger had wanted to go to the annual Remembrance Day service in the northwest city's Anglican cathedral, according to UK media quoting investigators and friends of the cabbie.
