His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the UAE supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's request to host Expo 2030.

Sheikh Mohammed tweeted, "Today, the KSA submitted a request to host Expo 2030. As of now, we announce the support for the Kingdom's request, and we also announce that the knowledge and experience we gained during the 7 years of preparation for the Expo Dubai 2020 will be available to the brothers in KSA."

Sheikh Mohammed added: "The influences of the Expo 2020 will extend for years, and the success of the KSA is a success for the whole region. All the best to my brother, Mohammed Bin Salman in this regard."

Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that it has submitted an official request to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) (the organizing body for the World Expo) to host the Expo 2030 in Riyadh under the slogan “The Era of Change: Moving Our Planet Towards the Future” from October 1, 2030 to April 1, 2031.

This came in the letter of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, to the Secretary-General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, Dimitri Kerkentzes.

Mohammed stressed that this candidacy is an important and symbolic challenge for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing his confidence in the Kingdom's ability and commitment to establishing a historic version of the World Expo with the highest levels of innovation, and to provide an unprecedented global experience in the history of organizing this global forum.
