Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that the Pakistan Pavilion in the Expo 2020 Dubai is one of the best pavilions and appreciated the team who made it, which incorporates the country’s culture, heritage, places and people.

“I’m not appreciating the  Pakistani pavilion because I’m Pakistani, but saw the great work from different designers who made this extraordinary pavilion, truly depicting Pakistan’s culture, heritage, tourism and people,” he said.

Ismail, along with Ambassador Afzal Mehmood, Consul General Hassan Afzal Khan, Director Pakistan Pavillion Rizwan Tariq and officials from the mission, visited the country’s pavilion on Tuesday and reviewed the different parts of the pavilion. “The pavilion is presenting the country’s rich history and mammoth opportunities in sectors like business, tourism and industries. We would like invite all our business community to visit the site and hold their regular events to use this space free of cost,” he said.

He assured that soon he will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and ask him to send university students on an official tour to see the Expo 2020 Dubai and especially the Pakistan Pavilion.

“The Pakistan Pavilion is a result of a great teamwork and recently we saw the result of teamwork in Pakistan-India T20 World Cup match in which Pakistan made history to win by 10-wickets,” he added.

He also vowed that the national cricket team will continue its winning combination throughout the tournament.

“The Pakistan pavilion has been visited by over 100,000 people so far and the huge number of the visitors showed that people really liked our pavilion. We would like see Pakistanis in the UAE come and visit their country’s pavilion and bring their friends and colleagues to introduce our tourism, culture and heritage,” he said.

The governor pointed that officials from the Pakistan Mission in the UAE are working hard to make the country’s pavilion a great success.

“The Pakistan Ambassador is working with the community residing in the UAE to visit the pavilion and make most of the benefits from it as the site for social and business events is available free,” he added.  Mehmood told that they are working with Pakistani schools in the UAE to bring their students in the Expo 2020 Dubai and visit the Pakistan pavilion as well as learn from the world to see their pavilions. “We are closely working with Pakistani business bodies in the UAE to get benefit from the available space for their meetings, events as it is free and ready to promote country’s business, tourism and other sectors,” he said.
