Indian pavilion opens at Expo 2020 Dubai with cultural performances

Visitors enjoy cultural performances during the opening of the Indian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Indian pavilion opened at the Expo 2020 Dubai with cultural performances. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the large Indian diaspora during the inaugural ceremony of India Pavilion through a video conference.

Piyush Goyal, Minister of Textiles, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, inaugurated the pavilion on Friday.

Goyal said, “Delighted to inaugurate the stunning India Pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai. I invite the world to come and partner with India for driving the next phase of global growth…”

Visitors can enjoy the unique experience of art and expression with light, music and dance at the pavilion.

The Indian pavilion symbolises pride, potential and power of Indian citizens living all around the globe.

It tells a story of aspiration, serves as a symbol of audacity and an invitation to the world. I wish to tell the world, you can bet on India, Goyal told media.

Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, also attended the inaugural ceremony of India Pavilion.  

Indian yoga guru Swami Ramdev was also present  at the inaugural ceremony of India pavilion.

“Dubai has allowed very few pavilions (countries), India is one of them, to retain pavilion even after Expo 2020 Dubai gets over.

“We will keep UAE as a base showing India as an emerging superpower," Goyal said.

The pavilion is a fine blend of modern outlook and traditional strengths. It is a saga of business exposition and a celebration of all Indian festival at the event.
