The Saudi police announced, on Wednesday, the arrest of a man who ran over two girls with a stolen vehicle in a residential neighborhood in the Qassim region. The video of the incident has been widely circulated on social media.

According to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the spokesman for the Qassim region police, Badr Al-Suhaibani, said that the security follow-up resulted in the arrest of a vehicle driver who appeared during a video clip circulating on social media, running over two girls in a residential area in Qassim.

He also fled from the site of the accident.

Al-Suhaibani explained that the offender is a Saudi in his thirties, and the initial inference procedures indicated that the vehicle he was driving was stolen.

An investigation continues till the legal procedures will be completed. He will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
