The student, Hatem Nasr El-Din Shaaban excelled in the twelfth grade and obtained a total of 99.15 in the academic year 2020-2021, but his financial and social conditions prevented him from achieving his dream of studying medicine at a university in the UAE.

The prompted his mother to appeal to universities to help him complete his learning.

The mother of the outstanding student, who is separated from her husband and is currently supporting herself and her son, said, “The financial and social conditions prevent me from continuing my son’s education, especially since studying medicine in private universities requires paying high financial premiums that exceed the limits of my capabilities, which made me resort to Al Khaleej, the sister publication of Gulf Today, to convey my appeal to private universities that offer a full scholarship to outstanding students to cover the costs of his studies.

She said that she could hardly provide for the expenses of a normal life, which made her feel that her hands were tied and unable to fulfil the dream of her son, who worked hard and stayed up every night in order to obtain high grades that would enable him to study medicine, only to be surprised that hardship stood in the way of his ambitions.
