UAE ranks first regionally and 15th globally in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic

The UAE’s measures to control the COVID-19 pandemic has been termed exceptional and is considered as one of the most successful examples internationally.
The country ranks first regionally and 15th globally in dealing and controlling the pandemic.

The official spokesman for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri during a media briefing on the latest development on coronavirus in the country.

Dhaheri said, “We witness UAE’s resilience and preparedness through a proactive approach in combating challenges and supporting decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of the situation, and through plans and strategies to contain the pandemic.”

The UAE managed the COVID-19 pandemic exceptionally and is considered as one of the most successful examples internationally, in addition to its regional and international humanitarian initiatives.

According to Bloomberg COVID-19 resilience ranking, the UAE was on the lead regionally and the 15th internationally, 3 rankings higher than last July.

“Our World Data” showed that the UAE is 1st globally in the percentage of vaccinated individuals with 2 doses. It was also 1st globally in the rate of doses distribution per 100 persons, for countries with a population of over 1 million.

The role of the national media is evident, transparent and honest in its reporting about the pandemic, reflecting the strategic messages of the national, regional and international community, which in turn highlighted the efficiency and proficiency of the Emirati example.

The authorities established digital solutions to link indicators and achievement statistics as well as set financial and economic targets required to support the recovery phase in the UAE.

The committee set a comprehensive strategy that included performance indicators of the post Covid-19 phase to all targeted sectors.

This is meant to measure the performance of different local entities to achieve a return to the new normal life.

The extent of strategic balance between different sectors is evident, which resulted in achieving the targets of the proactive plans.
