VIDEO: 3-year-old boy found after being lost for 3 days in Australian woods

The Australian emergency services rescued a three-year-old boy 3 days after he disappeared from his family's home.

The family resides in the remote rural property near the village of Putty, north of Sydney.

In footage shared by New South Wales Police, the boy Anthony AJ Elfalak is spotted, drinking water from a creek in the village of Putty, 150 km north of Sydney. He was rescued immediately.  


The boy was taken to the hospital and was reportedly suffering some scrapes from a fall and a nappy rash.

It is not clear yet why the boy wandered away from his family’s house.

An investigation has been launched in into the incident.  

New South Wales Police said on Facebook that the three-year-old child missing on a rural property in the Hunter region since Friday has been located following a large-scale search operation.

“The boy was located on a nearby riverbank by PolAir around 11.30am on Monday.

“The crew directed ground search teams to his location. The NSW paramedics examined him and he has been reunited with his family.”

When asked by the media what helped him survive this ordeal, the boy's relieved father Anthony Elfalak said, “Just to see my son, he bears my name…”
