Abu Dhabi to return to 100% workplace capacity from Sept.5, learn about the requirements to enter offices

Abu Dhabi announced on Thursday that all companies and institution would return to100% workplace capacity in the Emirate, while continuing to implement precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of employees.

The authorities confirmed that from Sept.5, employees who are vaccinated or who are exempted from vaccination must show the status in green on the AlHosn application to allow them to enter workplaces, and conduct examinations in accordance with government protocols.

Non-vaccinated employees must perform a PCR test every 7 days.


In the event of non-compliance with the PCR test, the employee’s failure to enter the workplace is considered an interruption from work, and the period shall be deducted from the balance of his periodic leave, even if he/ she does not have a balance that shall be deducted from his total salary.


The vaccinated visitors and customers are also required to show the green pass, while the non-vaccinated are obligated to present a negative PCR test valid for 48 hours.

It is allowed to work remotely for parents who have children in the tenth grade or less, or who is exempt from in-person school attendance based on medical authorisation and a statement from the educational institution. It also allows remote work at the discretion of the employer.
