VIDEO: Abu Dhabi Police fine 170 motorists for throwing waste on roads

Abu Dhabi Police fined 170 motorists drivers for throwing waste on roads and public facilities while driving during the first half of 2021.

Police have advised road users to throw garbage and waste in the designated places, taking into account environmental safety and public health, and preserving the civilised appearance of the Emirate.

According to the Article No. 71 of UAE Traffic Law “throwing waste from vehicles on the road while driving is a violation and the errant motorists will be fined Dhs1,000 and 6 black points will be registered for violating drivers."

Police called on drivers to abide by the rule and warn passengers with them not to throw any waste and promote positive behaviours by preserving the environment and the general appearance of cities.

Abu Dhabi Police explained that this behavior may cause environmental pollution, and urged the need to cooperate with the competent authorities in taking care of health, safety and the environment by disposing of used waste in trash containers.
