Dubai Maritime Rescue Unit returns sunken valuables to tourist

As part of their efforts in ensuring the happiness of community members and the emirate’s tourists and visitors, the Dubai Police Maritime Rescue Department returned valuables to a tourist after they had fallen into the deep end of Hatta Water Dam.

Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of Maritime Rescue Department in Dubai Police, said the tourist had called 999 seeking help after his personal belongings plunged into deep water at the dam.

Al Naqbi said they dispatched a marine rescue team to the scene to determine where the objects had fallen and retrieve them.

"The Maritime Rescue Department happily responds to people’s requests and recovers their valuables, exceeding their expectations," Lt-Col Al Naqbi pointed out.

The tourist was extremely happy and expressed his thanks to Dubai Police for the speedy action of returning his valuables.
