The Abu Dhabi Police implemented a ‘Hand-In-Hand’ initiative in Al Ain, through which a number of traffic violations were replaced with awareness tips and bouquets of flowers for drivers.

This came as part of Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts to enhance traffic awareness and urge drivers not to commit violations in the future.

The awareness card included the type of violation, the fine incurred and an awareness video for the violation itself shown once the barcode was scanned.

Lt. Colonel Saif Mohammed Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Department, Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Central Operations Sector, stressed the Abu Dhabi Police's interest in the safety of the public before issuing any violation against violating drivers.

He pointed out that the initiative, which covered all roads in Al Ain City, enhanced field awareness by stressing the importance for drivers to avoid accumulated violations.

The patrols stopped a different segment of drivers and gave them awareness tips on the importance of abiding by the laws and regulations.

They also distributed bouquets of flowers and brochures, motivating them to drive safely and respect all categories of road users including pedestrians, delivery motorcyclists and others.
