Road accident deaths in Sharjah drop by 38 per cent in 7 months

The number of traffic deaths in the emirate of Sharjah fell by 38 per cent during the first seven months of 2021, according to Sharjah Police.

These statistics were revealed by the Traffic and Patrol Department of Sharjah Police on Saturday.

According to the Sharjah Police’s latest statistics. the number of road fatalities fell by 38 per cent during the first seven months of 2021, compared to the same period last year.

Lt. Col. Mohammed Allay Al Naqbi, Director of the Traffic and Patrol Department of Sharjah Police, confirmed that Sharjah Police are keen implement the strategic objectives of the UAE Ministry of the Interior to improve road safety and reduce road accidents and deaths.

Al Naqbi said that the Sharjah Police are ready to investigate the cause of the traffic accidents and find an appropriate and timely solution.

The decrease in the number of road accident deaths was due to the efforts of the Traffic and Patrol Department pf Sharjah Police that conducted awareness programmes for the society, and disseminated the traffic culture among different members of the public, in addition to disseminating the role played by the media in raising traffic awareness, he said.

"Sharjah Police are working under the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior aimed at enhancing traffic awareness among all members of society" Al Naqbi concluded.
