The Dubai Civil Defence squads successfully extinguished the fire that erupted on Wednesday afternoon at the plastic factory located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). A thick cloud of black smoke blanketed the area due to the nature of the plastic material, sources at the Dubai Civil Defence said.

The squads ensured a safe evacuation of the factory and no injuries have been reported, the source confirmed.

In the details, the firefighting teams rushed from the Jebel Ali Station to the fire’s location as soon as the operation room was alerted about the fire at 13:09 pm.

The firefighting teams reached the scene within 7 minutes, and they were able with help of other teams form three civil defence stations to evacuate the factory from its workers without recording any injuries.

The source stated that the team brought the fire under control at 14:38 pm and that the thick smoke was caused by the burning of flammable plastic materials.
