The Integrated Transport Centre has affirmed that various options are available for payment for taxi services in Abu Dhabi. These options include the traditional cash payment and electronic payment via the PayBy app. or via the ‘ABU DHABI TAXI’ app.

Electronic payment requires either of the two apps to be downloaded, noting that both apps are available for all types of phones.

After reaching the destination, the passenger must tell the driver that he wants to pay electronically. A ‘QR’ code will then appear on the vehicle’s meter screen.

To confirm the transaction, the passenger must then enter his own password or the facial recognition feature in his smartphone. Both the driver and the passenger will then receive a notification once the transaction has been successfully completed.
